Attention

Documents / Passport

Brazilians DO NOT need a passport or visa to enter Colombia. However, if your flight has a connection in Panama, you will need a Passport – as the country is not part of Mercosur. The passport will be requested while still in Brazil, at the time of boarding. However, even if your trip is direct, we advise you to bring your passport.

International yellow fever certificate

The international yellow fever certificate is mandatory for Brazilians. Those who do not have this vaccine need to take it 14 to 10 days before the trip.

Hosting address

It is very important to bring the address of the hotel or accommodation, as it is information required by the immigration authorities.

Check Mig

Passengers must complete a form “Check Mig” no later than 72 hours before departure.

Travel insurance

Colombia does not have a public health system, therefore, it is strongly recommended to take out health insurance during your stay in the country, regardless of the reason for your trip.

Colombian peso

The currency of Colombia is the Colombian Peso. Dollars are not accepted in most establishments, so you will need to exchange them at an exchange office or bank. Cartagena has several exchange offices in the Historic Center, but in other cities there are not so many options. It is also possible to pay by credit card in restaurants, hotels and public establishments in general.

Climate

Colombia is a country that has different types of climates. The two most tourist cities have very different climates. While Cartagena is hot, Bogotá is cold. So, don't forget to check the weather forecast and bring suitable clothes.
